In May 2025, a notorious roadside zoo in Bandon, Oregon, was raided by multiple law enforcement agencies, after years of alarming reports from visitors and animal welfare groups. More than 300 animals were seized and all are being relocated to “appropriate, reputable facilities,” according to an Oregon State Police spokesperson. The moment we got the go-ahead from authorities, we loaded up a trailer with crates and supplies and raced to bring four survivors home.
With this being an open court case, we weren’t sure if and when we would get permanent custody of Felix, Oliver, Luna, and Zane. But after four months of investigation, police arrested the owner of West Coast Game Park Safari, following a grand jury indictment on 371 charges.
We were overjoyed to receive the news that we’ve been granted permanent custody of the Oregon rescue cats! Now, these four can keep thriving and experiencing all the wonderful parts of sanctuary and finally be the wild cats that they are.

Oliver is a 4-year-old Eurasian lynx, born in 2021, with a sweet but timid personality. He values his personal space and takes his time warming up to new things—but once he does, he shows his approval in the most endearing ways! Oliver enjoys exploring fresh enrichment items added to his habitat and finding cozy spots to relax.

His favorite lounging places are his oversized tunnel and the top of his den box, where he can often be found stretched out with his paws in the air, perfectly content. While Oliver doesn’t currently have a roommate, the hope is that he’ll eventually share his space with Felix once he’s fully settled in. With his quiet curiosity and gentle spirit, Oliver is a wonderful reminder that comfort and confidence bloom with time and care.
