Kallisto
Sometimes we hear from people who are trying to do the right thing and it reminds us that there are good people who care. Kallisto came to WCR in 2019 at approximately 6 months old. She was sold as a rescued F1 Savannah and her new owner was thrilled to be able to get her out of that situation.
Fast forward 5 months and they realized after doing more research that they had been duped, this little girl was actually a serval kitten. Breeders and people flipping cats will tell any story to get the money they want 🤨Because her new owners didn’t want her to grow up in a house, they reached out to us to see if we could give her a more natural lifetime home.
It’s so sad because Kallisto and her owner were very bonded and it was heartbreaking for them to place her but knowing it was the right thing they overlooked their feelings to do what was best for her.
Kallisto was too small to put out in the larger habitats when she first arrived but now she shares a habitat with Serena, on of the Wildlife Waystation servals and they are doing great together! She doesn’t care for people, she sees the keepers as servants! But we’re just fine with that ❤️
