Safari
Safari arrived with his sister, Tamika at WildCat Ridge Sanctuary in April 2016, they were nine years old. We were contacted by their owner who was suffering health issues and could no longer care for them properly. Luckily for them, he chose to do the right thing and place them in a sanctuary. Safari is bigger than Tamika and more easygoing. He’s curious about everything and loves his enrichment!
Unfortunately, Safari lost his sister Tamika in December 2019 and we worried about him being alone. So, we moved in Tanzi, another serval who had lost her companion. They are doing very well together and enjoy each other’s company.
Servals seem to be the most common small wildcats to be bought and sold. Breeders convince people they make good pets but nothing is further from the truth! People are mesmerized by their beauty and never consider what happens when that adorable kitten grows up. WildCat Ridge believes NO wild animal should be bought and sold and we do all that we can to educate the public and advocate for the animals.
